The Hütte: Tiny House video #2

Almost a complete hütte.

Almost completed the shell today.  Tomorrow I have to reframe the doorway for the temporary door that I'll use until I can afford the French doors.  Mucho dinero.  Looks like I'll beat the snow that is coming Sunday.

Door that needs reframing for temporary door.  No header yet.

Jeep Wrangler Drive

Only a half day working on the tiny house.  My friends Bruce and Jill received a Jeep Wrangler today, all the way from California.  Can you say no rust and the thing is 27 years old.  Spent the morning cruising around back roads and trails.  A little "cool" to have the top down but we're tough New Englanders.

Got half the rafters up, attached hurricane ties top and bottom, trimmed rafter ends, couple sheets of zip roof.

With A Little Help From My Friends

Today was a productive day.  John and Bruce were a great help in getting loads done on the tiny house.  John laid out the loft area and figured out the rafters and got the ridge pole in place with the help of Bruce.  I was on the ground being the cut man (I like the ground, ground GOOD).  Still gimping around with my back issues, so I really appreciate the help I had from two great friends.  Shout out to Jill for taking the great photos, so actually three great friends!  Nice work guys!

I have friends in high places.  John and Bruce.

First bits of progress

Since moving out of my house 10 days ago, I have slowly begun  work on The Hütte (tiny house).  Progress has been a bit slow, but a back injury has been keeping the first few work days kind of short.  Today was the first manageable day as far as back pain goes.  I've complained of some back pains in the past but now I know what actual pain is.  Ouchy.
