The Hütte

My name is Ken and I am about to start something pretty exciting, a Tiny House build.  My Tiny House will be known as "The Hütte", it pretty much means what it looks like.  It is the German spelling of my last name and is defined as a cottage, primitive building, shack or Hut.  With a last name like this maybe I was destined to live tiny.

Most everyone should be familiar with Tiny Houses by now, it seems to be taking off nationwide. This is something I have been thinking about for some time now and I find myself at the perfect point in my life where it really makes sense and have the time to dedicate to a build.

I will be moving out of my house at the end of the month and will start my build in the next week or two.  I am very fortunate to have great friends, Jill and Bruce who offered me a place to build and park my Tiny House once it is completed.  It is exciting to see how excited they are as well about the up coming build, so much so that Bruce has also purchased a trailer and plans to design and build their own Tiny House to possibly use as a getaway cottage.  I never knew, but the last few years while I was thinking about building a cottage or Tiny House, Bruce was also looking at Tiny Houses.

Coming to the Boston Area this weekend the first annual Big Tiny House Festival in Somerville MA, Saturday September 20th at 3 P.M.  located at 10 Poplar St.

I purchased a cargo trailer a few weeks ago to store the worldly possessions that I don't necessarily want to get rid of just because I'm downsizing to a Tiny House.  This will act as my basement or garage for all my tools and misc.

I took delivery of my 8'x24' Tiny House trailer this past Sunday and was really pleased with the build quality and how heavy duty it is.  The height adjustable trailer coupler was a welcomed surprise.
